Stand Tall Even When You Feel Small
We have all had those moments when we decide, "I'm going to start making big moves and stop playing small in my life." These moments are fantastic, we are feeling good, confident and ready to take big risks for big rewards. When we are in this mindset we feel powerful and make decisions without thinking twice . We commit to speaking at an event, joining a networking group or plan a big sale or promotion for our brand. Basically we Stand Tall and rise to the challenge without fear getting in our way.
So now we are at the BIG day or event that we committed to when we felt like a queen. We are excited and the adrenaline is pumping, we are going to rock this ! But then something suddenly shifts when we step into the room, set up our table or wait behind the curtains for our BIG moment. It feels as though within seconds we go from feeling like a 6'5" Football star to a 3 foot kindergarten on their first day of school. We start thinking, "Am I actually doing this?! What if I screw up? What if I'm not who they think I am? Why did I believe I belonged here? Maybe I should have waited to try this another time..". Every fear we have ever imagined flows into our head all at once and we shrink back into old thought patterns.
This has happened to me a few times recently. I have been making big moves that are uncomfortable, but I know they are necessary to get to where I want to be. The shrinking feelings of unworthiness never hit until "the BIG MOMENT". Why does this happen?! In the moments that we are meant to grow, we are tempted to shrink. Growing is scary, we are attempting new things, getting out of our comfort zones and pushing ourselves to become better. These are defining moments when we have to decide if we want to stay where we are or keep moving forward.
SO HOW DO WE GET THROUGH THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MOMENTS OF INSURMOUNTABLE FEAR?!
We take a second to pause, breathe and refocus. I remind myself how excited I was for days or weeks leading up to this moment. I think of the good things that could happen. I think of the people I'm happy to meet or connect with. I remember that I deserve this as much as anyone else or I wouldn't be here.
I have had all types of anxiety and in those moments of fear and self-doubt I have to remind myself that I wouldn't be given opportunities that I could not handle and that I am in control of how others see me. The way we truly see ourselves is how others will see us. If I let myself think that people won't respect me because I'm a young business owner, they won't. Life is all about perspective and we have to train ourselves to recognize our fears as opportunities for growth.

Dreams are valid. We all at some point need to make big scary moves to be where we want to be. Keep it up and all the best of luck in the word.
