No Excuses
When you are are an entrepreneur, business owner or manager NO ONE wants to hear your excuses. For people who are leaders there is no room for excuses. This may sound harsh, but when I catch myself making an excuse for not promoting my business, meeting a deadline or fulfilling a commitment I remind myself, "YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO MAKE EXCUSES!"
Ultimately if I do not get something done, no one is going to do it for me. This is the reality of being an entrepreneur. If you don't do the work or seek the opportunity, it is not going to appear out of thin air. So if you do not make the effort, you are not really allowed to complain that you did not receive the outcome. When we make excuses, we can also fall into a "poor me" cycle and believing that things are more difficult for us. For example, we can start thinking "My business isn't taking off because I don't have the money that other people do," or "I can't do that, I don't have as much time as everyone else."
I used to be one of these types of people and thought "only stay at home moms have the time to build a home-based business," or "I don't know enough people to network in my community," These are ALL excuses and limiting beliefs that did not make sense and limited me from meeting my potential.
So how do you change your attitude and ditch the excuses?!
I started to genuinely believe that I was worthy of success and have everything I need at my fingertips. I also starting owning up to my own excuses and decided if I'm going to do this, there can't be any excuses. Where there's a will there is a way! Talking to other entrepreneurs has always been helpful for me as well to see how other people overcome common barriers or plateaus in their business. There is plenty of unseen work among entrepreneurs that no one will openly talk about. Why? Because that is not the image most entrepreneurs want to display. They want you to see the glamorous aftermath without the actual hustle or sacrifice that happens before the "boom" of success.
So if you want to take your business or brand to the next level, get ready to ditch the excuses and get your hands dirty. Dive into the possibilities and be open to learning what other people do to get to the top. ( I can tell you they do not believe in making excuses and they work hard, really hard when no one else wants to!) As always if you want to chat with me, I'm here !
