All Hustled Out
Have you been pounding the pavement since September? During the fall and winter there isn't as much to do outdoors or with friends and family. I know I tend to hibernate more and stay at home during the week and even on weekends! As an entrepreneur this may mean more time spent on social media. We want to be more engaged and productive while we are at home so we can become hyper focused on sales or results. After the Holiday rush, shopping habits of our customers do change. I know this happens every winter season, but it doesn't make it any easier!
So it can be difficult to not feel a little defeated during these times. Everyone is looking for that inspiration to get them off the couch. The truth is, people are looking for inspiration from their favorite brands, bloggers and Instagram accounts so we have to step up our game. Instead of "faking" it, pretending we are doing fabulous things, this may be a perfect time to actually take a break and have some fun. When you are enjoying yourself as a brand, it will translate as real fun to your viewers.
Here's a few ideas to get through the rest of winter with more pep in your step:
1. Plan an event.
Get your brand ambassadors or team together for a fun night out or plan an indoor photo shoot. Do something! Doing nothing isn't helping anyone or feeling like you are waiting for spring too arrive. I love planning ahead, but it's also important to keep yourself energized for the present.
2. Take a REAL break.
Not a break where you are sitting at home but your brain is still in your business. Sometimes we have to getaway to really leave work or our businesses behind. It can be a week long vacation or day trip where you vow not to answer any work related messages or notifications.
3. Commit to things you ACTUALLY enjoy.
Many of us try and keep our schedules full during the fall and winter to "get things done" so we can enjoy the summer when it comes. We book all of our appointments, stick to our routines and we are committed recovering our finances after the holidays. The last thing you want to do is feel like you have too many obligations, especially with winter weather driving. Commit to events that you can look forward to instead of dread attending.
4. Get Inspired.
You may need to get inspired yourself in order to keep inspiring others. Read a book that is related to any personal challenges you are having or something you would like to improve on. Listen to a podcast created by someone you can relate to. Spend time with other entrepreneurs and learn new skills. Engaging in your own creative activities can also spark inspiration! Try painting, photography, redecorating or making Pinterest board of ideas you love!
If you’re feeling all “Hustled” out, you may need some time to reacharge and reignite your passion for what brings you joy !
