Why I Don't "Revel" in Success
If you have been following my journey as an entrepreneur or know me personally, I have reached some pretty BIG personal goals. I am grateful for every success that I have experienced thus far and am proud of myself for the opportunities that I've had the chance to pursue. That being said, I still have many more goals ahead of me and I'm only just getting started!
This is WHY I don't revel in success...
I usually get moving to the next goal or opportunity immediately after honoring the last success. I don't think I would call it a "fear of missing out", but I do want to stay current with my eyes open to opportunity. When we get wrapped up in the past, we are not focused on the present and blind to the future. I always like to plan ahead for events so I am organized and setting myself up for future success. When I am too caught up emotionally in what is going on presently, my mind has no space for planning ahead. So again, enjoy the excitement but remember in the morning it doesn't give you a pass to stop trying.
I think I have always been this way because nothing has ever came easily to me. I'm a natural born hustler and I watched my parents do the same. When you work hard for your achievements, it feels amazing to reach your goals. That being said, I have seen many hard workers fizzle out after a BIG success. It can happen to anyone because we can feel like "we finally made it," but it isn't a free ride once you make it to the top. In order to stay on top you have to continue with the work ethic that got you there in the first place. It is much like fitness. You can workout everyday for months, but once you reach your goal weight you can't expect to maintain it without putting in the work. It doesn't work that way, if you go back to eating junk everyday and being sedentary the weight will come back. It's the same with entrepreneurial success. You might ride the wave for a little while, but then you have to get back to routine and continue the daily grind that got you in the spotlight.
So I encourage you to appreciate your success, but don't let it get to your head! Honor it, celebrate it, enjoy the sweet taste of victory (and celebratory cake), then get a good sleep and wake up with the mindset to keep up the humble hustle.

First, I want to say that it is perfectly normal to celebrate, appreciate and enjoy success. We should be grateful and proud of reaching our goals as entrepreneurs! It is our daily hustle and when we achieve our personal and professional goals, that needs to be recognized. Always give credit where credit is due and recognize the people who help and support you in your journey. Giving applause is just as important as graciously receiving them.
After the day or two of celebrating is over, it's time to get back to it. I actually have to remind myself to slow down sometimes and reflect on what has happened because I like to keep moving. Don't get me wrong, I like a good party like the next boss babe but you can't party too long or you can get caught up in the hype. I celebrate and share my success, but I stay committed to keeping my feet on the ground. Staying humble is Rule #1 when is comes to any kind of success. Staying humble will keep you grounded, respected and relatable. Some of the most successful people I have met (and look up to) know how to accept their rightfully owned status, but stay humble in the process.
