I Ain't Got Time For That
We are ALL busy! I don't believe I am any busier that anyone else, but I do know how to make time for what is important to me. It is very easy to get lazy and then complain about what we don't get done. We all do it from time to time! "I'm too tired, I don't have time..blah blah blah". The truth is we don't MAKE time for things that we say "we don't have time for".
I am a planner and have been for most of my life. When I don't plan, I get lazy. It's that simple. No goal and no timeline means nothing gets done! I'm also very habitual, which can be my biggest flaw and my greatest strength. What I do on a daily basis is what will always get done.
So how do we make it all work and make time for things that matter most when we are juggling so many responsibilities?! Get to know yourself, your habits and understand what you want to achieve everyday. Then make a plan, establish a routine and follow through.
Here's what my average week looks like balancing a full-time job, business, family, friends and maintaining my health. (I don't have a PERFECT balance yet, but I'm working on it!)
Monday-Friday
Morning:
6:30-9am - Wake-up eat a good breakfast with a coffee, post on Social Media for the business & get ready for work. I drive my boyfriend to work for 8am and run errands or tidy up my place in between 8am-9am when I go to work. I ALWAYS pack a lunch and snacks and if I'm planning on hitting the gym, I bring it ALL with me!
Day Time :
9am-5pm - Work my day job and post on Social Media & answer emails on my lunch break for the business. Sometimes I use my break to mail shirts, go for a short walk or run errands.
After Work:
5-9pm - Evenings during the week are usually time for the gym or delivering shirts. I Pick up my boyfriend from work and we make dinner & eat together. One night a week I make time to see friends.
Before Bed:
9-10:30pm - Post again on Social Media & emails. We usually watch a TV show to wind down, shower and in bed by 10-10:30pm.
Saturdays - Most weeks I work 9am-3pm, get groceries, sometimes go to the gym and then have some fun unplugging from everything at night! Still posting on Social Media for the business like any day.
Sundays- Never at the office! Woo Hoo! I visit family or do something fun with my boyfriend to recharge before another week starts (road trip etc). This is always our meal prep day so we don't have to stress about food during the week. I will also make time for posting on Social Media and mailing shirts and planning sales or promotions for the week .
So yes, time is crucial and to fit it all in you need to set goals and schedule what you want to make time for ! I have to schedule time to RELAX because I get addicted to being productive and can burnout. This is when I will get sick, stressed, headaches and exhausted. Our bodies have many ways to warn us that we are not in balance. That's why knowing when to rest is just as important as knowing when to push yourself to keep going.
That's my everyday hustle!
