50 Shades of Fitness

If you have seen my clothing line, it is not about one single type of fitness or workout. I encourage women to "Enjoy Cakes & Lift Weights," Drink Lattes & Do Lunges," to "Lift Heavy & Love Hard." My clothing is a representation of my own fitness journey and where it has brought me. I have been on different places on the spectrum of what it means to be "FIT". Now my "Fit Lifestyle" is a mix up of everything I have experience and about achieving personal balance.

I did the whole obsessed with getting lean, lifting weights 5 times a week, training twice a day and never wavering from my diet. I have also taken breaks away from the gym for months to focus on other parts of my life. I have tried a low carb lifestyle, vegetarian and I have been gluten-free for over 15 years. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years as a competitive dancer, so fitness and health will and has always been a part of my life. It is natural for your fitness journey and lifestyle to evolve over time and in order to find what works best for you.

So where am I now?! Of course after years of dieting and training for shows my body has fought back. I have had to take a break of hardcore weight training and give my nutrition a few tweaks to get my health back on track. I now incorporate many types of cardio, yoga and some weight training (mostly legs) into my normal routine. I have no doubt this will change again, because just like life, my boy is always changing.

I am passionate about promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle for women. Extremes were once a part of my life, but I do not see that as a healthy or long-term way of living. It is important that as women we feel our nutrition and exercise is not punishment, but a self-care practice  that nourishes our life both mentally and physically.

If any of you would like to contact me, please do not hesitate. The fitness industry can be both confusing and manipulating at times and it is always nice to have support in your own journey! Sending body positivity to all of you who are reading, stay healthy & love your body.
