Doubt is a Dream Killer
I will be honest, not everyday is a party when you are an entrepreneur and just getting started. There are amazing days with tons of sales and you feel on top of the world! These days I believe I can do anything I put my mind to and the inspiration overflows my mind with future possibilities and success. These are the days I LIVE for and that keep me going. But unfortunately not everyday can be like this and no one wants to admit it or talk about it.
The fact is, life as an entrepreneur looks a lot like this picture below.
There are lulls and moments where I think "Why am I doing this? This is not how I pictured it." These statements are soooo detrimental. As soon as I introduce any doubt into my mind it's like a negative spiral of events. I start thinking that business is slowing down, that I won't sell my inventory, that there is something wrong with me or my product or that I didn't work hard enough. Of course none of this is actually true. The slower periods are natural and it's something I try to remind myself of every time I hit a roadblock. These are the times that are testing my will to succeed.
These are the defining moments of being an entrepreneur. So how do I get myself out of this mindset?! Well sometimes a little push from a loved one helps! But beyond that I have to remember how far I have come since I started. That the overall slope is an upward one. I try to think of that "high on life" feeling I get when I am successful and that refuels my energy. It is not always this easy or quick to change my mindset, but it is crucial!
I have learned that if I stay in this low vibe, negative energy it only makes things worse. My attitude towards my brand is not the same, posting on social media feels like a chore and I sneak back into a smaller, less deserving state of mind. That's when I know I need a little spark to mix things up and fill up my cup! So I do something different or seek out new opportunities. I will make a video, connect with other entrepreneurs in person or watch or read videos of mentors. Other times the universe does its magic and I receive a message from a customer or a post about how they LOVE their new shirts and I am reminded of why do what I do!
I hope you enjoyed this post. It can be related to a fitness and health journey as well. All journeys of transformation or reaching goals are not linear. They have ups and downs that will test your mental toughness and desire to succeed and with every challenge we grow a little stronger !
